The 2019 Pommard Clos Blanc 1er Cru has a lively and pure bouquet with brambly red fruit, sous-bois and touches of wild heather. The palate is well-delineated, finely balanced and elegant in style, packed with shimmering red fruit laced with white pepper on the finish. This is an absolute joy! It possesses the transparency one assumes was denied in this warm growing season. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2025-2042)

Medium deep colour with quite a rounded, warm fruit bouquet. Sumptuous solid and delicious, there is tremendous energy, an engaging and entirely clean meatiness, and an extremely long finish. The wine keeps coming back. Beautifully judged. DIAM 10.
